Many people suffer from a very common problem called acne and inflammation, but generally, this is the result of our daily food habits that cause this problem, which later on gets worse for many. Eating inflammatory foods can cause acne flare-ups. The body’s inflammatory response is meant to protect us from injury and foreign invaders, but when it’s constantly activated, it can lead to many skin problems.

Many chemicals are found in foods that can trigger acne. One example is iodine. Iodine is an essential nutrient for the thyroid gland, and it plays an important role in the functioning of the body. However, while the body needs iodine to function correctly, too much iodine can be harmful.

Dairy products are commonly the leading causes of acne. While excess dairy consumption can lead to higher levels of insulin and androgens, which can trigger acne, it’s not necessarily the main cause. In general, cutting down on sugar is a good place to start if you’re looking to improve your acne.

Junk food is high in sugar, fat, and calories and low in nutrients. Eating junk food can lead to weight gain, which can promote inflammation. Avoid these foods to help keep your skin better.
